Dirty Girl

From the moment I started feeding Harvey solids I learned pretty quickly that she didn't have a problem with getting dirty.  Most meals consist of her running her (insert any food here) filled hands through her hair and now on occasion she thinks it's funny to stuff her leftover food down her shirt. So most of the time now she just eats topless, bibs are just extra laundry for me.

While I like to think that letting her just go to town on whatever she is eating has helped expand her palette, she for the most part will eat just about anything, I think I've created a monster.  Last weekend her and I walked across the street to get Brad some sausage rolls and a couple donuts for her and I to share.  When we got home we hung out in the front yard while I picked some weeds and we waited for Brad to wake up so we could eat our healthy breakfast together.  Unfortunately, Harvey has become very aware of the donut bag and what's inside.  While I was working hard at cleaning up the yard I looked over and what do I see, little miss off in the distance with a half eaten donut in hand and her face covered in chocolate frosting.  She thought she was pretty funny and when I came towards her to grab it back she took off running.  Don't worry she at the ENTIRE thing, even after she dropped it on the ground 327 times.

In the instance below it was only 7:45 in the morning. She'd had a bath the night before and was nice and clean but for some reason I had decided that eating a smoothie on her own was a good idea.  You'd think I would learn my lesson but really I think I'm slowly adjusting to just letting it go. I'm hoping this helps her become more independent in doing things on her own OR she could take a different route and she could be the token stinky/dirty kid at school. Only time will tell. Either way I like that she's not afraid to get dirty.  Life's more fun that way.
