Summer Fun

We've had a pretty low key summer so far but got to take a little road trip to see Harvey's Aunt, Uncle and cousins in Des Moines.  I don't think Harvey could have any better cousins than she does.  Every single one of them is patient with her, even when she's nagging them to death.  And I'm pretty sure she's got a little crush on her cousin Matt.  Any time he's around she's right by his side.  Thankfully he's experienced in having a little sister and doesn't seem to mind.

After that we headed over to Omaha for a few days and hit up the zoo and just relaxed at the hotel. Harvey was less than thrilled with zoo.  I had high hopes that she would just LOVE it there and while she did enjoy looking at some of the animals she was much more into the carousel they had.  Had I known how much she would love riding it I would have saved the money we spent on getting into the zoo and found a carousel somewhere and let her have endless amounts of rides.  Brad and I both said that we've never seen so much joy on her face before!

We brushed some goats, chased some peacocks and had a little break down when it came time to share our frozen lemonade with everyone.  In the end we had fun but learned that the zoo is not really on Harvey's list of fun things to do...at least at this age. We'll try again in a couple more years.
