This Halloween has been the most fun with Harvey by far! She got to wear her little outfit four different times so by Halloween night she was all about putting it on. The make-up, ears and even the tail (which was not the case the first couple of times) became something she looked forward to, which made it so much fun for me.
Thanks to her Aunt Heather and Uncle Trent she got a taste of what trick-or-treating was all about when they showed up at the house with a fake pumpkin full of candy a few days before Halloween. Harvey learned pretty quickly that the only way to get some of it was to excitedly shout "TRICK-OR-TREAT!" for all to hear. At Brad's office she needed no prompting whatsoever on what to do and came home with a bucket full of loot.
This little kitty ended up having plenty of candy by Halloween night so we decided to skip the actual trick-or-treating outside and Brad and I handed out some candy via our bedroom and bathroom doors. And she loved it.
I planned on having a little video of Harvey showing off her Trick-or-Treating skills but as you can see in the video below she wanted nothing to do with me. It just shows how very little control I have most of the time.
Three things to point out:
- My dog listens to me just about as well as my 2 1/2 year old (keep an eye on him in the background at the end of the video)
- My patience was about at its end with her in this video (due to a prior incident) so if I sound like I'm frustrated at one point it's because I was. :)
- Yes. That's me huffing and puffing in the back ground. Time for some exercise.
Hoyt and I were so looking forward to hearing you huff and puff :), but the video is set to private.
