Halloween 2014

After a couple of parties leading up to Halloween we celebrated the official day by heading over to a church in our little town.  They had games and bouncy houses and also fed everyone hot dogs, nachos and caramel apples.   This small town is really starting to grow on me!  Seeing some familiar faces all in one place made me feel very much at home.  It's only taken 10 years (crazy that we have lived here that long!) but I'm beginning to feel some love for this little place.

Harvey got to play Plinko and also fished for some
ducks in exchange for some candy.

We had planned on stopping by the Fire Station for some candy and to check out the fire engines but by the end of the carnival we had two screaming kids and decided to head home.

I really wanted Harvey to be able to get to trick-or-treat "for real" this time around so she and I hit up our neighbor as soon as we got home. Getting candy at that first house definitely sparked her interest because the cold weather that she was complaining about 15 minutes earlier was a distant memory.  She took off down the sidewalk towards the next house with its lights on and never looked back. She and I had some fun running around our little square block of houses and I'm pretty excited about next year when little brother will hopefully be able to keep up.
