Minding Her Manners

Harvey is slooooowly learning that 'please' and 'thank you' will help in the process of getting something she wants. Most days she voices her demands and if it's not given to her she progressively gets louder and louder.  We are working on it and I'm pretty sure I've perfected the "You're not getting what you want until you ask nicely" look.  I feel like I'm reminding her 345 times a day to be polite (which can be exhausting) but I know that it will stick - it's just a matter of time.

Well, Harv's and I had a little date at Krispy Kreme one morning and as everyone knows as soon as you walk in the door they hand you a delicious warm donut right off the cooking line. Much to Harvey's surprise (and mine because the guy didn't even ask me if she could have one) the server behind the counter handed her her very own sugary treat.  She snagged that donut as quick as she could with both hands and held it up in front of her like it was some sort of award she had just won. With a little giggle she exclaimed "nake you" to the man no less than four times.  Unprompted.  I was so proud of her that I made sure to buy us both a couple more donuts to celebrate.  I'm thinking we might need to make a few more trips for donuts............just for some practice.
