Flowers

While trying to stay in step with my new years resolution we picked up some flowers last weekend to help fill up the back deck.  We're hoping for all of these to stay alive all throughout the summer.  I'm well aware that buying flowers doesn't technically meet my goal of 'learning how to grow flowers' but I can at least learn how to keep them alive this way.  

I do have a lone pot sitting empty on the deck right now that I'm thinking about planting some peony bulbs into.  The bulbs have been purchased, I just need to get up the nerve to plant them. I'm just afraid of failure, I suppose. I planted some bulbs last year and didn't even get a sprout let alone a big beautiful plant with never ending blooms. I refuse to give up! I think it's time I actually educate myself.
