Pumpkin Patch: Take One & Two

The pumpkin patch was definitely on our list of things to do this fall and we've already hit up two of them so far.  And I think we can call it good.

Our first trip happened to be in Kansas a few weeks ago.  I was pretty excited to take her and see what she thought of it...now that she was a little bit older.  Frankly, she wasn't all that into it.  While she did like the pumpkins the rest she couldn't have cared less about.  I'm sure the fact that it was 90 degrees outside (and I packed nothing but warm clothes), we didn't get there until well after her usual nap time and we happened be there on the day that 3 bus loads of school kids were there for a field trip didn't help.  So I forced a couple of pictures and called it good after about 20 minutes.

These two attempted to make some sugar cookies that night.  Attempted is the key word.  The good part was that it kept Harvey busy enough that I could take a little break and down half a bag of candy corn pumpkins before dinner.  They only come around once a year so I've get to get my fill!

Our second go at it with our small group went a little bit better but after about 30 minutes we were done and ready to go. Maybe we're just not pumpkin patch people.  Or we might just need to wait a couple more years for Harvey to really enjoy it.

They did have a bunch of hay bales for the kids to jump around on and Harvey LOVED that as well as the big pile of dirt that she could run up and down.  The pumpkins at this patch left little to be desired so Brad made a good call and we left empty handed.  We made a quick pit stop at Wal-Mart to find the perfect pumpkin before we headed to dinner and called it good for the night.
